I am pregnant! (again)

Posted by Heather on March 31, 2009 at 12:49 PM Comments comments (0)
So I am pregnant again. So far this one is sticking. But I went to the doctor on the 26th for my twelve week check up. They test your urine for who knows what, measure your stomach, and listen to the heartbeat. Now I have been on the very stressed side of life because of family stress and my mother having another (yes another) open heart surgery two days before my appointment. So I went in and my doctor was searching and searching for the baby's heartbeat, not a good thing. But my doctor was so good and realized that because I miscarried last October that I was so very nervous that there was no heartbeat to find. But we did another ultrasound and found that the little one is was just bouncing around so much that it was hard to even get the heartbeat with the ultrasound because the baby would not hold still. So I am happy, I think that this will be so good for my little two year old to have someone to take care of.

Other than that I am just trying to make it through surgeries, nausea, breathing and taking weird photos to make Susie laugh.

I have not written in a long time, I have had so much going on. I moved and my mother is preparing for open heart surgery. I love my mother very much. She has gone through so very much. Two brain surgeries to remove tumors. This will be her second open heart surgery. She has had countless heart "procedures". Two years ago her gallbladder went septic and she was life flighted to the hospital. Her heart stopped multiple times. She has been a trouper and fought to slay alive. She is a huge key to our family and an inspiration to me. I felt confident in this surgery and I think she will do very well. Of course anytime someone has their body cracked open there is a level of fear.

Curious minds want to know.

Bread

My husband and I were watching some random show and then a commercial came on and it was about a reality show featuring jockey’s. We thought it was an interesting idea but could not help but laugh when the commercial was almost over but then it said “Jockey’s, on Animal Planet!” we both burst out laughing. How randomly demeaning is that? I get that it is because they ride horses but they themselves are not animals and it makes it seem like they are about to break out in the Oompa Loompa song.

I have gone on and on about my baking skills, but here is the proof!

Best bread ever.

Best bread ever.

My loaf's

My loaf's

Now I am starting to pack to move and this is making me so crazy because I am so very tired to begin with, not being able to sleep at night and having a two year old in the morning does not help, and trying to even think about what needs to go with what in what kind of box just puts me in overload! But I will just have a slice of bread and think about it later “after all tomorrow is another day”.

In case you wanted to know.

Man’s Search For Meaning

Here, There Be Dragons

Don’t Know Much About History.

My top post?

Posted by Heather on January 19, 2009 at 7:08 PM Comments comments (2)

I have been going through weird moments of wanting to cook. However it is not like normal meals, I want to make homemade banana bread or regular bread. Things that you really should have someone who knows what they are doing help you. So I do have some failures the bread that I made the other day ended up not raising at all. But I cooked them anyway and it tasted ok but it was so heavy and short. However I will not give up! I will learn how to make bread come hell or high water. I am moving at the end of February and I am dreading it!

So I was just meandering through my statistics on my wordpress and I noticed that by a far stretch there is one post that gets the most hits. Multiple searches have brought people to my site and the searches are:

Breastfeeding pig, women breast feeding pigs, woman breast pig, woman breastfeeding a pig, Mek tribe breast…

So my question is why people are searching for this and who are they? I hope this is somehow research for school or something. But I think it may not be. I guess if you find yourself here with this search let me know your reason.

Side note I figured out how to make bread! Happy happy, I found out how you now the yeast is ready. Then I made a lovely meatloaf. What is wrong with me? I am not a domestic Goddess. Oh well, that is enough for now.

My week

Posted by Heather on January 14, 2009 at 2:39 PM Comments comments (0)

So my little girl just turned two, and boy is she showing her age. Terrible two, yes but please why does she have to be so determined? Well she had a great party very casual and she loved her gifts. Of course Susie gave one of the best gifts, a baby doll with her own little carrying case and bottles. She has slept with her doll every night sense.  It has helped with our nightly routine she loves to wrap up her baby and give her a bottle.

Her b-day presents.Her b-day presents.

I took my little girl to her two year old check up and she was spectacular.  She did not cry when she got her shot and she is growing so well. She now reached the forty three percentile in weight. Considering she has been under twenty five percentile this is a huge landmark.  She also did not complain when the doctor was doing all of her checking, the pushing on the stomach and checking out her breathing. The doctor said that the two year old check up is usually the hardest but she was great. So as we were leaving and I was feeling like the poster child for parenting Venice showed me that you never can let your guard down. We were getting out of the elevator and walking toward the car and I like letting her walk on her own so she was all of a sudden not next to me and I turned around in a flash and she was just walking back onto the elevator. I ran into the elevator and the doors were closing but jammed back as I ran in. I have never been as scared in my whole life as I was looking at my little girl all alone in an elevator and knowing the doors could close at any time and I would not know where to go. She could end up on any floor. I grabbed her and held her so tight.

Just a reminder of why I am moving, we had a friend over for “Bromance” night. He is a smoker so when we stepped outside for him to clear his lungs, and there were two police officers going through a truck just outside of our porch. We could over hear them and they were saying all of the things they were finding in this guy’s truck. This was comical and went as the following:

Boxes of porn X3

Porn collage

Gun

Bag of urine

I sat there in complete shock. What the crap? Who carries a bag of urine in their truck? And my husband said, “I say hi to the guy who owns that truck almost every morning.” Which of course let to all kinds of things he could say next time he sees him. Then we went back inside to continue the laugh off at “Bromance”.

P.S. If you are wondering as I was what Bromace is there is where you can find the urban dictonary's definition.

2009

2009 what a concept, that here it is almost a decade into the twenty first century and we don?t have flying cars or robots to clean for us. I feel totally mislead by science fiction books and movies! I know that most people do resolutions and plan on somehow turning into a completely different person. Yet somehow they just stop and end up feeling bad and not changing anything. I know that this sounds pessimistic, but I decided that I have looked at too many years like because someone made a calendar stating that this was the ?new year? that my whole life would change. As I told my husband when he asked what resolutions I was setting, I said that this year I am just going to survive and if good things happen then that is happy. I guess my only type of resolution would just be to be happy.

I will look back on the things that I am happy to have or have had. This starts with my husband he is so wonderful, a true blue geek who still acts like he does not understand women at all even through our four and a half years together. Next would be my daughter, now I know that some people would think this odd or incorrect, however I would not have my girl or be able to be a stay at home mom without him. My daughter is so wonderful and happy she fills my life with unbounded joy and absolute frustration. I am so happy for my family even through massive fighting or issues with each other they still have been there through good and bad times together. I am so happy to have my friends so many friends I have I have known for a very long time. I have to also say I am thankful for the friendships I have had that I have lost my friend, although very painful to go through I know my life has been very enriched for having known them. I also believe that I have learned a lot from surviving the pain of loss. Not that I would ask for more or recommend this route of action, I guess that what I am saying is if you sadly find yourself with a lot of loss, learn from it.

I am amazed at how fast time fly?s, today is my daughters two year birthday. I cannot believe it was two years ago that she was torn from my belly. She is getting so big even for a tiny girl who is in the twentieth percentile. I miss her as a tiny baby but it is so fun to hear her say all of the cute sounds that animals make. She is a riot because if you ask her to do the same sound more than twice she looks at you like you are stupid and just ignores you. I have no idea where she got that attitude!

My husband, we just found out passed his third actuarial exam! This is exciting and frightening. Exciting because he is so happy with working with math, frightening because we could have to move anywhere within weeks just depending on where he gets a job. But such is life I suppose.

My little girl

So my holiday season was totally crazy! I was running from family party to family party. Driving from Murray to Bountiful, Layton and then to Holladay. However just being able to watch my daughter open gifts was the best! She did not care really what was in it she just wanted to continue to open gifts. I let her open all of mine and my husband’s as well. She was so cute because all she wanted was to tear all of the paper off the box. This did make more of a mess than usual because she would tear the paper into small pieces which I had to clean. But her determination was fascinating to watch. At times she was so intent on getting a gift open that she was going red in the face and shaking as she was trying to tear open a small box. She has loved her Christmas. Funny thing is one of her favorite things is a large candy cane balloon that my brother in law had at his house and gave to her because she loved it so much. She talks about the “bazoon” all of the time and she says night night to it also bye and asks for it first thing when she wakes.

Then two days after Christmas my husband and daughter went up to my brother in laws house for dinner (I stayed home not feeling well and enjoying a good break).  They have an outside cat and now that my daughter is practicing animal sounds one of her favorites is what a kitty say and she just says meow meow all of the time. When she sees a cat she starts yelling meow meow. So that night my husband had shown her the kitty and she loved it. So he started on his way back home and my daughter kept saying meow over and over again and he was saying was that your favorite part of the evening seeing the kitty? He kept thinking wow that sounds so much better and he was feeling proud of my little girl. As he almost reached the freeway from the highway, all of a sudden something jumped from the back seat to the top of the passenger front seat. He said that he screamed like a girl but did not get into accident. He stopped the car and turned around to return the stowaway and this time he looked back often to see our little girl holding the kitty in her car seat and just so happy smiling from ear to ear and squeezing the poor cat. He decided that a thirty minute drive with an almost two year old should be a lesson enough to the cat not to jump into random cars. The next day I was asking her about what she found in the car the previous night and she was so happily jabbering away telling me all about it then I asked what did daddy say when the meow meow jumped up next to him and she let out a shrilly scream. I laughed so hard then proceeded to scream with her over and over again. She is so amazing with all of the animal noises.

Being a mom makes for some good stories.
